Why would a graduate student be presumed illiterate?

How you got from the way people are listed in a directory to you being presumed illiterate is beyond me. It might not be right to list some people's degrees and not others, but the fact that it has blown up in your head so much, and you think it means you can't read, suggests you are very upset over...something. Maybe you should take some time off from pursuing your degree and get your head together.
