Ordering a Tailor Made Suit in Bangkok/Chiang Mai?

What is a good price for a tailor made suit in Bangkok? Someone said not to pay more than 1500 baht which is about $44 US. I read prices for suits were cheaper in Chiang Mai, I'm thinking maybe I should have a suit made for me since it's so darned expensive here in the States. Also, is there good selection of silk ties? What is best place to find silk tie? JJ Market? Suan Lum Night Bazaar? Central? Or MBK?
