Will my dog be alright if he ate rat poison and didn't vomit?

I love him so much and I tried to make him vomit all night he just wouldn't, my dad refused to take him to a vet and even hit me for asking to much... I feel so helpless... can he survive it? he did just take a little bit and I gave him lots of fatty food and water to help his blood clot and he seems fine its bean about 18 hours since he ingested it and he's showing no symptoms?
