Stopping birth control? Side effects?

My fiance and I are getting married later this month and have kinda been trying to get pregnant the last couple of months. I say "trying" because I would stop taking pills for a couple of weeks, then chicken out and start taking them again. This on and off again cycle of birth control use has caused me to have constant bleeding for weeks and weeks. I'm trying to stop taking it again this month and I'm weary about what to expect Will I get my period regularly? Or could I keep bleeding constantly? What about moodiness? I've noticed when I've stopped taking them, I have MAJOR mood swings.
