HELP HELP HELP!!!!!! I lost my det laptop while going on home on a train? WHAT SHOULD I DO? will i have to pay?

I was traveling from school to home and when i got up i got a phone call resulting in me forgetting my laptop! Came home crying...What should i do . i am going to tell the school. Will i have to pay for the laptop ??? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!
