Did Clinton really see things between saddam and bin laden in terms of ego at the time of the vote for war?

I really think Hillary explained herself in the debate. She thought that at the time her approval to this notion of military force would only be means to tell Saddam that we mean business(A slap in the hand). Now,she apparently is now discouraged of how the architectures proceeded without no clear policy of an exit plan.
